📢 TDS Payment – AO Permitted (Quarterly) | Due Date Alert for Jan–Mar 2025

For businesses and deductors who have obtained special permission from the Assessing Officer (AO), the facility to deposit TDS on a quarterly basis is a convenient compliance benefit. But with this flexibility comes the responsibility of timely payments.


🔹 Applicable Sections:

Quarterly TDS deposit is permitted under the following sections, only if prior approval has been granted by the AO:

  • Section 192 – Salary payments

  • Section 194A – Interest other than interest on securities

  • Section 194D – Insurance commission

  • Section 194H – Commission or brokerage


🗓️ Relevant Period:

January to March 2025

📅 Due Date for Payment:

30th April 2025

This is the final deadline to remit TDS deducted for the last quarter of FY 2024–25 under the permitted quarterly scheme.


⚠️ Consequences of Late Payment:

Failure to deposit TDS within the due date may lead to:

  • Interest @ 1.5% per month (or part thereof)

  • Penalties under Section 271H

  • Disallowance of expenses under Section 40(a)(ia)
